Taking family for summer ride.
Since craft seems to be working better now, it was time to take the whole family for cruising day. Just incase we had other crew following us in a boat. My daughter does not trust the craft yet. She decided she rather travel by boat than hovercraft. She says if she gets in the hovercraft it will break. Granted we have had very bad luck with it all the time. It was somehow difficult to start, but once i got it running it worked nicely. It's likely the gasoline i'm using: i got some gasoline for free after someone accidentally filled a diesel car full of gasoline and tank had to be drained. So there some diesel there too, but planning to do my best burning it out the system before winter gets here. This is the way hovercrafting should be; just enjoying the ride and scenery without any hassle. This is exactly what we did ! We first stopped to take a swim. Water for too cold for me to swim, but others did try that. i spent that time washing the craft. Few years of outdoor storage has left it's marks, but nothing too bad. Then it was time for little bit of fishing and camp fire. Our son (1,5yrs) totally fell asleep once we started the craft and slept all the way through light lunch and fishing. He did have a good place to sleep in a hovercraft. I have two large plastic boxes for tools and spare parts and they also serve as seats. We placed lifejackets in one of the boxes, lift the lid as sunshade and he could have his nap safely. There wasn't much fish around and F1 Grand Prix would soon start on TV so we decided to head back. We took a little de-tour on our way to hoverport since everything seemed to work just fine. Once we got back to hoverport we saw few small kids waiving for us nearby. I decided to ask them if they'd be interested in ride - and they were. We took them for a short ride and left home. |
